Significant cases

Woodhouse v Aquila

This case concerned alleged infringement of the claimant’s unregistered design right in its design of street lamps.  Particularly significant is what the Court had to say about the identity of the ‘informed user’.  The case also concerns a salient reminder that those filing designs must be particularly careful as to how much or how little of the design is pictured on the representations.
