Mini-pupillages
Mini-pupillages last 3 days. You will have the opportunity to read and discuss current IP and Chancery/Commercial cases with members of Chambers, accompany us to court and sit in on conferences with clients.
A mini-pupillage is an opportunity for you to experience life at Hogarth and for us to evaluate your prospects as a potential pupil. The majority of candidates invited for pupillage interviews have done a mini-pupillage with us. Mini-pupillages are assessed. You will be asked to spend a few hours working on a short set of papers in order for you to produce a piece of written work, which we will take into account if you later apply for pupillage. Any necessary text books will be provided. The exercise is primarily designed to test your powers of analysis and will require the application of principles of law that you will have already studied. We therefore require prospective mini-pupils to have commenced or completed the GDL or to have entered the final year of their degree.
Owing to the pattern of work in chambers, we do not offer mini-pupillages during the court vacation periods and places are limited to 16 per annum. For 2011/2012 there are two opportunities to apply. The first application deadline is 5pm Friday, 30th September 2011 for the period October 2011 to March 2012, and the second application deadline is 5pm Friday, 16th March 2012 for the period March 2012 to July 2012.
Please address your application (by CV and covering letter) and any enquiries to Miss Catherine Hanley at Hogarth Chambers, 5 New Square, Lincoln's Inn, London, WC2A 3RJ or chanley@hogarthchambers.com.
