Intellectual Property
Members of Chambers act in relation to every aspect of the enforcement and licensing of all intellectual property rights including:
• Patents, technology transfers, plant variety rights, pharmaceutical and environmental regulatory compliance.
• Trade marks, passing off, unfair competition, trade libel, domain names, sports and character merchandising, franchising and corporate sponsorship.
• Copyright, copyright tribunals, registered and unregistered design rights (both UK and Community), computer software and database rights, trade secrets, counterfeiting and criminal remedies.
In addition to our work before the UK Courts and the newly renamed United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) we are also familiar with the procedures of the EPO, the CFI and the ECJ.
A number of the leading texts in the IP field are edited or contributed to by members of Hogarth Chambers. These include Copinger & Skone James on Copyright and The Modern Law of Trade Marks. For full details of these and of our many other publications, see our publications / seminars page.
We are well known for the seminars which we give regularly for solicitors and patent/trade mark attorneys. We consider such a marketing initiative to be an essential part of being a modern, top tier, forward-thinking chambers. For more details see our publications / seminars page.
