Laura Adde – Our new pupil

Hogarth Chambers are very pleased to welcome the new (and our 13th) pupil barrister, Laura Adde.

Laura has a Master’s degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Southampton, where she worked on projects including building a 3D printer and designing an orbital debris shield for the International Space Station.

Following university and law school Laura completed her training contract at Herbert Smith Freehills, ultimately qualifying into the Intellectual Property team where she worked on a range of contentious and non-contentious matters, and gained a distinction in the Oxford Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property and Practice.

As a keen coder Laura has also participated in a number of Legal Tech Hackathons, including an ‘Online Courts’ Hackathon which took place long before the pandemic precipitated the first zoom hearings! Laura is especially interested in AI and IP, and has published several articles in this area.

Laura is a keen sailor and has recently returned from racing 40-foot yachts in the Caribbean to the (much chillier!) waters of the Solent. When not at sea, Laura enjoys travel, tea, and murder mysteries.
