We wish to assure those we work with that we are closely monitoring government advice and taking appropriate measures to protect the health of our clients, staff and members of chambers.
Members of chambers are continuing to work on their ongoing matters and are accepting instructions on new matters as usual. All of our barristers are able to work remotely and are well-practised at doing so. Members of chambers are continuing to join meetings using their clients’ chosen video-conference software. We are also able to offer our clients our own video-conferencing facilities using both Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
We are closely monitoring HM Courts’ advice on adjusting to this outbreak and liaising closely with the courts and the UKIPO in relation to alternative procedures for conducting hearings. We expect to be able to accommodate whatever alternative procedures are put in place and will ensure that our clients are not placed at any disadvantage by these procedural changes. We will keep our clients updated as we hear more.
Our clerking team is also now working remotely and all members of the team are available by telephone and e-mail as usual between 8.30am and 7pm. John Davies will be physically present in the clerking room in chambers from 10 am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 4 pm so long as this is permitted under official guidance.
Finally, we wish those we work with and their families the best of health at this difficult time.
Yours sincerely
The Members and staff of Hogarth Chambers
